Supporting Maths at home:

All children from EY to Y6 are set  Key Instant Recall Facts to practise and learn at home. The facts are given to children on a ‘help sheet’ along with key maths vocabulary, hints and tips for practising at home using online resources. The idea is that the children practise little and often, and learn these facts in  small, manageable chunks as they do in their fluency sessions at school so they can recall them with automaticity.
White Rose 1 Minute Maths AppEarly years and KS1 children are encouraged to use the 1 minute maths app designed by White Rose Maths to practise their KIRFs and any other key areas of Maths that their teacher suggests. Battles are scheduled throughout the year to encourage and motivate pupils.

TT Rockstars

All KS2 pupils (and Year 2 pupils from Summer Term), have access to Times Table Rockstars. This is a highly motivational programme where children can practise their times table facts like ‘rockstars’; learning to recall them fluently. Question based games such as ‘rock slams’ automatically adapt to children’s learning needs and challenges can be set by teachers who monitor children’s engagement and progress. We schedule regular battles in order to motivate children and increase learning progress and share ‘heat maps’ with both parents and children to celebrate successes and identify areas for improvement.
